Greg Patton is a native South Carolinian. His work is inspired by the decorated stoneware and face jugs of 19th-century Edgefield, SC. He works with traditional elements of this style, including ash glazes and slip decoration. Greg also incorporates and reinterprets old themes to create a mixed body of work: some at home alongside historical Edgefield pieces, others quite contemporary.

Greg graduated from Furman University in 2001 with a degree in art, and has supported himself as an artist since. His workshop is in Travelers Rest.
