About Us

Our Environment

We named our American roasting company “Leopard Forest” for the leopard known to inhabit the forests on our farm. We preserve hundreds of acres of cool indigenous forest on the lower hills, the home of the rare Blue duiker, Samango monkey, forest cobra and leopard. Numerous species of birds are able to thrive in our area.

We continually strive for ecological balance and, being also a dairy farm, we have been able to intercrop and rotate coffee plantations with pastures to break any build up of pests and diseases, especially focusing on Integrated Pest Management and different indigenous shade trees. Manure from the dairy goes onto the coffee lands, while the coffee skins, sugars and water from the farm pulpery are spread or pumped onto the pastures. In 2002 we were awarded the Innovative Farm Management award from the Zimbabwe Coffee Growers Association. The award is not only for inventive farming techniques, but also farm maintenance, quality of life and working conditions for our employees.

Our Community

The farm supports over 90 families; many have been with us for 30 years or more. Ensuring a high standard of living for our employees is critical to producing our high quality coffee.

Emmah a Midwife on our Farm

In addition to fair wages, we provide all workers with free housing (with water and electricity), a day care center, primary education, health care, soccer team, and community hall in the farm village. We have three community health workers on staff (Emmah is pictured at right) who are all trained midwives and ensure workers who need medical care are given immediate attention.
