Our Coffee
Our main source of coffee is from our farm in Zimbabwe, which has produced consistent, high-quality coffee for many years. In addition, we are always searching for coffees from other origins that are a valuable addition to our offerings. The growing seasons are different from region to region, and each season brings wonderful new coffees to discover. As we find them, we will roast them fresh for you, so please check back with us often.
On this website we have divided coffees for you into 3 categories:
- Coffees from our farm
- Coffees from other origins
- Flavored coffees, for which we use our farm’s high quality coffee—NOT your run-of-the-mill flavored coffee!
Any flavor terms used to describe our farm’s or other origin coffees are naturally occurring flavors within the beans that cuppers use to describe the coffees. They are NOT flavored coffees! For flavored coffees, please turn to our Flavored Coffee page.
Farmhouse Roast (formerly Medium Roast)
This is the coffee we drink every day on the farm. Imagine a rich pink and orange sunrise cutting through cool early morning mist rising above the pastures, wafting toward the coffee lands. That image is imbued in this roast!
Dark Roast
Full-bodied flavor, for those who favor the taste of a darker roast, but still want great flavor. Upon cooling has chocolate tones.
Espresso—Traditional Roast
Traditional medium roasted espresso, with brightness and citrus notes.
Espresso—Dark Roast
Dark roasted espresso, a rich traditional Italian style espresso with smoky flavor.
Sable Espresso
This new espresso we have developed is a blend of both washed and natural beans from our farm. It has fruity notes to it and is a unique espresso you will find nowhere else! Roasted between medium and dark espresso, it is fantastic as a pure shot of espresso, but partners beautifully with milk for the perfect latte.
Zimbabwean Peaberry
A rare and graceful bean, roasted at a medium roast to bring out the complex, rich, nutty flavors. This is the favorite coffee in our café.
Estate AA+
Winner of 2005 and 2006 Eastern African Fine Coffees Association Taste of Harvest — Zimbabwe. Roasted between light and medium color with little or no oil emerging from the bean. A bright, well-balanced cup with hints of cherry in the finish.
Pinnacle
Zimbabwe’s premier, gourmet coffee. The large bean has a very well balanced, rounded cup with excellent acidity, body and a pleasant berry flavour. It has been hand selected on our farm, and roasted just as the second crack begins. This coffee is only available WHOLE BEAN, because we want you to enjoy every nuance of the flavor fresh each time you grind it. Quantities are limited!
French Roast
If you love that dark flavor with a shiny bean, this is the coffee for you.
Light Roast
We light roast and blend two different types of beans for this bright cup of coffee. Definite citrus tones with a light toasty finish. Very little or no oil is present on these beans.
Safari Roast
A great blend of 3 of our own estate’s coffees, making a rich coffee, perfect for watching the sun rise over a great plain of kudu, impala, elephant and giraffe on their way to the water hole (well, we can dream!).
OTHER ORIGINS
Kenya AA
Roasted medium, great brightness with full flavor. A rich coffee from the beautiful, misty, high mountains of Kenya—amazing mouth watering chocolate aroma and flavor.
Colombia Supremo Huila
We are proud to offer our new Andeano Supremo Huila. This high-screen Supremo coffee is a well-balanced mild Colombian cup with a pronounced brightness and aroma as well as a delicate aftertaste. This coffee is the result of an intense selection process that began by identifying specific Estates within the Huila region that could offer us consistency and delicacy time after time. Pronounced brightness with hints of berries, caramel, and a sweet aftertaste.
Ethiopian Harrar (Horse)
This is a Natural Processed Arabica. Roasted medium, this famous fruity Ethiopian coffee has good body and is known for its blueberry notes.
Nicaragua Selva Negra Estate
A rich, bold bean, roasted slightly darker than medium roast. Exemplifies a great Central American coffee.
DECAFFEINATED
Kenya AA Royal Decaffeinated
All natural water processed decaffeinated (similar to Swiss Water). The absolute best African decaf we have found. Taste the difference!
Columbia Andeano Swiss Water Decaf
Roasted a good solid medium roast, a bright yet mild decaf.
We are now looking for new, wonderful other origin coffees as well. Check back!
